National Poetry Month Day 15

This is a free-verse poem that I wrote while I was taking the poetry class in high school.  I considered a few different topics for this poem, but ultimately I decided to write about hot chocolate.

Hot Chocolate

A piping hot cup of

decadently sweet hot chocolate,

is perfect for

the below zero winters of

New England.

The rich, indulgent taste,

of this warm winter treat,

will make your taste buds dance,

to the delicious, chocolaty beat

in your mouth.
